Position at Unity: I teach PE/Health and Anatomy & Physiology.

Professional and Educational Background: I graduated from Dordt College in 1998 with a B.A. in Secondary Education. I majored in HPER and minored in biology. I received a masters degree in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University in 2005.

Childhood and Family Background: I was born and raised right here in Orange City. I attended Orange City Christian School and Unity Christian High School. After graduating from Unity in 1994 I attended Dordt College. On December 20, 1997 I married my high school sweetheart, Angela(Rowenhorst). We have two children, James Alan and Jenna Marie, twins born on November 30, 2003.

Church Life: I am currently a member at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City.

Life Outside Unity: While not teaching at Unity I enjoy many outdoor activities. Some of my favorites are hunting, fishing, riding horse, water skiing and working on our acreage. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Why I Teach At Unity: I teach at Unity because this is where I feel the Lord is leading me to serve Him. Teaching at Unity is a great privilege and a awesome responsibility. Since EVERY aspect of our life needs to have Christ in the center, teaching from that perspective is so important. Being around young people and watching them grow physically and spiritually is really exciting.
