Description

Unity Christian offers many avenues for academic support. Acknowledging each child to be a unique image bearer of our Creator God, our staff strives to engage appropriate teaching strategies to meet different learning needs and styles. In many ways, our curriculum is "student driven" and Mrs. Dirksen is available to meet with students as they make course selections and other decisions throughout their years here at Unity.

 

Each year our students are required to contribute items to a portfolio, a collection of work that displays their unique abilities and achievements. Freshmen are challenged to consider how God is shaping them, sophomores are given opportunity to reflect on their goals, juniors create their own personal mission statements, attend a career day at NCC and are introduced to the ACT and the college application process. Seniors are assigned mentors, write reflection papers and prepare a senior presentation. In addition, Mrs. Dirksen walks with each senior through the decision making process which includes career planning, college applications, scholarships, and financial aid.
