Class Description
This course is a study of human behavior and personality. Areas the course will touch on include: perception, theories of learning, personality development, kinds and causes of mental illness, effects of stress and anxiety in contemporary life, and the effects of others in his social group on the way a person learns and grows. Students will constantly critique the study of psychology from a Christian perspective and will begin to understand themselves and better appreciate how God made them.
Class Expectations
Daily Work:
Students will be responsible for taking notes, participating in discussions, and completing written assignments (homework and in class).
Testing:
Pop quizzes will be given for most chapters and unit tests will be given after every three chapters.
Grades:
Grades will be based on the following criteria:
*total number of points from test, quizzes, and assignments
*class participation
Information:
Communication with parents is extremely helpful. I can be reached at 737-3460 in the evenings or at 737-4114 during the day at school. There will be times when I initiate communication, but I hope parents will feel free to contact me first.
