Class Description
This year students will further develop and hone skills they have been practicing since English 1, such as evaluating and analyzing pieces of literature, refining grammar usage, and adding depth to their writing.
Class Expectations
1.In order to succeed in this class you must do the reading. When we are studying a novel, generally the reading per night will not exceed 20 pages.
2.Projects or essays must be typed and turned in on their due date. No exceptions will be made in this case.
3.Late work receives only ½ credit. If an assignment is collected at the beginning of class, it is late if turned in any time afterwards. Major projects and papers are due at the end of the school day. I will specify when a project or paper fits this category.
4.Each student will have a 30-point participation grade per quarter. You will lose points for being tardy, unprepared, or disrespectful during class.
5.Your final grade will be comprised of your scores on daily assignments, writing projects, class participation, unit tests, and the semester final.
