Class Description
-To review why and how Christians view film
-To analyze the process of moving from printed story to visual story
-Understand how a book is transformed into a movie by reading October Sky
-Appreciate the art of movie making
-Learn the technical aspects of making a movie
-Apply what we have studied by writing, filming, and producing a short screenplay.
Class Expectations
-Projects or papers must be typed. This does not necessarily apply to daily writing assignments.
-Late work receives only ½ credit. If an assignment is collected at the beginning of class, it is considered late if turned in during or after class.
-The final movie-making project is required to pass the class.

First Quarter
-Review Comm I notes on finding Christian themes
-Film genres
-Read October Sky the novel
-Study the screenplay and film of October Sky
Second Quarter
-Learn about movie structure
-Study technical aspects of film making
-Write screenplays
-Create storyboards
-Film and edit movies
