Class Description

Perspectives is a course that is designed to challenge our young people to reach beyond simple understanding into critical thinking in the light of God's Word. Perspectives looks at life from an eternal focus placing some of the most practical aspects of life in that realm of focus. The desired outcome is to help kids see that all of life is a response to God and that God is involved in all of life. It seeks to heighten sensitivity to God's will for individuals and for His creation. Perspectives calls on kids to see life from a spiritual as well as a 'nature' life vision. The ultimate goal is to help kids see "beyond the sun" rather than focusing only on what happens "under the sun".

Class Expectations

Perspectives is a class that requires attendance every day.  This is a class that is interactive by way of discussions and many scenarios that result in cooperative learning.  Tests are given after nearly every unit and there are also a variety of learning activities (Biblical research, topical research, issue presentations, etc.} which are evaluated in a variety of ways.

A thorough study of the Books of Ecclesiastes, James, and Hebrews set the focus for much of our discussion.  Each student is required to write a research paper on an issue or delimma in their areas of interest and evaluate their perspective on the basis of Scripture.
