Class Description
Communications I is a mixture of giving speeches, studying different aspects of communications and analyzing the media.
Class Expectations
Goals and Objectives
*To learn the basics of communication
*To improve public speaking ability
*To appreciate the art of public speaking
*To learn the skills to write speeches
*To examine the role of media in our lives as Christians
*To analyze how the media communicates its messages through advertisements, television, and movies
*All objectives will be processed through a Christian perspective to build discernment of faith and worldview
Class Expectations
*Projects or final speech outlines must be typed. This does not necessarily apply to daily writing assignments.
*If you are absent on a day you are schedule to give your speech due to illness I will expect you to give your speech the first day you are back in class. If you are not prepared on the day you are assigned, you will need to give the speech the following day and lose 25 points.
Four speeches will be given: Informative, Persuasive, Group Demonstration, and a mini-Senior presentation speech.
